From the scenic Taal volcano, we travel north east to Baler, the capital of Aurora Province and birthplace of surfing in the Philippines. On through the Sierra Madre mountain range, home to the Aeta people, one of the oldest indigenous groups and onwards to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Banaue Rice Terraces and the city of Vigan. A coastal ride south, hugging pristine shores and back into the mountains to visit Baguio, the Summer Capital of the Philippines, so called because of it’s cool climate, pine-covered hills, vibrant arts scene and rich colonial history. Now back to Manila for a few well-earned cold beers at the famous Handlebar Bar & Grill.
